BETRAYAL OF GURKHA HEROES
The Britain government has decided to allow only 4,300 Gurkha’s out of 36,000 to live in England. There are many peoples who are against this decision. The supporters of soldiers with actress Joanna Lumley describing this decision as ‘’ despicable’’.
“Government should hang its head in shame” said by David Enwright the representative of Gurkha’s. The whole nation of England support Gurkha’s and are against the decision of their government.
According to Mr Woolas Gurkha’s are only allowed to stay in the Great Britain if they have chronic medical condition as a result of their ‘service, or a bravery award, but according to Ms Lumley the daughter of Major Lumley who fought with Gurkha’s in the Second World War, it is very difficult for Gurkha’s to prove their medical condition as a result of their service and it is shameful for the Britain to make such a decision.
The soldier legal team decided to continue the battle against the government’s decision. They will write to the Home Secretary about this issue and he has three weeks to react. Martin Howe said “we will take the government to any court we have to”
Reflection
To be honest I did not know who are those Gurkh’s and why they live in the UK, then I have searched the internet about them and I have discovered that those are people from Nepal and they always fought in the Britain’s army for British government. What a gift that the British government give them for their service. This is not fair, they used those people and now when Gurkha’s need care and respect the government decide to let them down. It is a selfish decision and I am happy that there are people over there to support Gurkha’s and help them fight against such a arrogant decision.

I agree with you. Britain has always had a very strict immigration policy - laying down you life for England doesn't seem to qualify you as a British citizen.
ReplyDeleteGood blogs, Manija - a few minor corrections

What a gift that the British government give them for their service. - has given...
I totally agree with you!
ReplyDeleteSuch injustice makes me so mad. It is unthinkable that a government who is supposed to be looking after the wellbeing of their own people can come to such a decision. I can’t think of what the Ghurkhas in Britain must be going thru. I hope The Soldier Legal Team will have great success in their attempts to fight the governments decision
