Child traffickers find it easy to operate in UK, say MPs

Child traffickers find it easier to operate in the UK than in the other EU-countries. Keith Vaz, head of the home affairs said he is very concerned about this issue and the UK’s government should do something about this problem as soon as possible. The children missing from single care homes are the most time ending up as prostitutes in the Midlands or forced to do crimes like drug dealing.
According to Gordon Brown “child trafficking deserves urgent attention”. He asked home secretary for an urgent report on this issue. The local police should do more to find child traffickers. “There are lack of co-ordination between al the agencies” said Vaz. “Child trafficking was a difficult issue because children can be easier misled” said immigration minister Phil Woolas, he also said that they will work together with local authorities to fight against child traffickers.

Reflection

This is very dangerous for the UK to have such a problem. Child traffickers are the worst problem that a country can have. If children are not safe in a country like UK, where are they safe than. It shows that crime is all over the world, so not only in the east countries. Anyway I am happy that the UK’s government takes this issue very serious and wants to take actions against such a crime.

  1. I agree with you that this is very important issue for the UK. But one thing that I noticed was that they mention that childeren missing from single care homes end up as prostitutes. So is the problem the single care homes?? What is the main reason childeren choose for this, or are they pushed to do this? It is good to see that the british goverment wants to take action to solve this problem because childeren are our future!

  2. Child trafficking is a global and perennial issue that must be taken seriously. Many governments promised to fight this issue. But what happened? The syndicates are still out there exploiting these children and the number of victims are increasing. One proof of this is that they are now operating in the UK, easily. Hopefully, the Brown's administration will really take serious actions to combat this crime. That it is not just a lip service and a publicity stunt.
